The first Anglo-American steampunk magazine is created as Steampunk Journal and For Whom The Gear Turns merge
Steampunk Journal and For Whom The Gear Turns – two of the most popular steampunk magazine sites in the world – are proud to announce they will be merging with immediate effect. The idea for the merger came after both Editors noticed that the steampunk magazine industry was seeing massive changes. After much discussion they decided to pool their resources.
Both sites have a great deal to offer. For Whom The Gear Turns has a loyal following while Steampunk Journal has a large “unique view” readership. Both magazines offer a myriad of reviews, articles, news and interviews and that won’t just continue, but will get stronger!
Steampunk Journal Editor, Matt Grayson, said: “I read an interesting article by Phoebe on how steampunk publications were thinning out. It echoed my own thoughts about some of the magazines that have been and gone. I contacted Phoebe and we discussed how if we collaborated on one publication, we could reach more people. After a few days of talks and thinking things over, we agreed to merge the sites and make one big super steampunk magazine!”
For Whom The Gear Turns Editor Phoebe Darqueling said: “I was delighted to be approached about becoming a part of the Journal team. What a huge compliment! I admit, it’s hard to give up my “baby,” but I’m excited to join forces to bring fans the biggest and best Steampunk experience the web has to offer.”
Merger: Two become one
The merger means that Phoebe will be busy importing her 500+ incredible posts onto Steampunk Journal over the coming months. Regular Steampunk Journal readers will therefore get some wonderful new content. For Whom The Gear Turns readers can have a trip down memory lane before taking a look around the Journal.
The Journal also now benefits from steampunk news from both Britain and the United States. Real reviews of events going on in America will bring fresh content to the site.
